    2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir

    Our 2016 Rosé of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley came from a Sagnee of ripe Pinot Noir. This ancient French method for dealing with high brix fruit always meant there would be a little Rosé around the house for family dinners. Our Sagnee, or “bleed” came from a friends lot of Pinot that was very ripe. There was enough to make 56 cases, so instead of drinking it around the house, we put a label on it this time!

    It’s a robust and fruity version of Rosé, with more than enough body to pair with foods. We find fresh and ample flavors of ripe cherry, strawberry, rose hip and touch of tropical fruit. It has some of the most beautiful color you’ll ever see in a Rosé – we can’t get enough of just looking at it. Drink this Rosé nice and cold in the next few months. We’ll make more next year!

    Featuring aromas of honeysuckle flower, toasted almond, citrus and pineapple.
    With a full palette of bright citrus, orchard fruit – Asian pear and peach, and a hint of toasted oak. A Chardonnay that is full bodied and refreshing all at once, capable of pairing with a wide range of foods and flavors.

    Our 2016 Chardonnay comes from the Stuhlmuller Ranch in the Southwest corner of Alexander Valley. This old Chardonnay vineyard is tucked into the hills where the valley ends and the Russian River turns west towards Healdsburg. A mix of Old Barn and number 4 clone, the vines benefit from the hot afternoons and cool nights along the river.

    Total production of this Chardonnay was two hundred cases. All barrel fermented with fifty percent ML. 25% new oak

    Only two hundred cases produced.

    Aromas of cranberry, vanilla, raspberry and dried herbs. Flavors of cola, anise, rhubarb, and tart raspberry. A soft front followed by bright acidity and full tannins. This Pinot will continue to mature in the cellar.

    Our 2013 Campbell Pinot is a single clone, 777. Harvested September 15th between 4 and 6 am, the fruit arrived at the winery still as cold as the morning low of 55 degrees.

    It was fermented in t-bins, twenty percent whole cluster, and aged for eleven months, with thirty five percent new oak. Only two hundred cases produced. 14.1% Alcohol

    This Pinot is here to tell the story. Right out of the bottle it has a dazzling ruby and garnet color. A wide array of aromas jump from the glass – dark sweet cherry, blackberry, rose petal, vanilla, plum, orange zest, and pomegranate. The flavors are just as intense and varied – cherry cola, vanilla, coffee, boysenberry and huckleberry, and a perfect touch of spicy nutmeg and clove. This wine has great tannin structure and tons of body, which will only get better with time. Only three hundred cases produced.

    This 2014 Pinot Noir just keeps impressing us and gaining complexity in the bottle. Green Valley is a tiny and cooler sub appellation of the Russian River valley. This gives it’s vineyard even more ability to produce great Pinots from an already epic Pinot growing region.

    2015 Green Valley Pinot Noir

    The 2015 growing season created the opportunity to achieve rich tannins and bold acidity in our Pinot Noirs. It was a very small crop with thick skins and small berries. Our ‘15 Pinot Noirs have beautiful color and surprisingly large body for Pinots – yet the tannins are wonderfully smooth. It should be a celebrated vintage for its uniqueness and fantastic wines.

    Flavors of ripe bing cherry, baked raspberry, and subtle tropical notes. Coupled with the classic spicy notes – cardamon, nutmeg, and allspice – that come from good Green Valley sites. The big, smooth tannins and full acidity carry this Pinot Noir through from start to finish. It should drink beautifully for the next 5 -7 years.

    Vibrant, ruby red color. Aromas of red fruit, blackberry, persimmon and hint of sweet tobacco.
    On the palate this Zin has a clean, fresh beginning – it’s middle is full and round with balanced acid and smooth tannins, which carry through the finish. Flavors of cooked raspberry, rich cocoa powder, and white peppercorn evolve into a finish of summer berry tart and ripe cherries.

    Harvest date: September 12, 2016.
