2022 Ribolla Gialla
Ribolla Gialla is a rare find in California – there are only a few plantings. We’re lucky to be the sole producer of the Gittins Vineyard. This 2 acre block is head trained and stretches from a creekside bench up an increasingly dry hill. This gives us a mix of brighter, heavier fruit, to riper, leaner fruit at the top of the hill. In this block of Ribolla you get acid and fruit expression by growing across varied terrain.
The Ribolla is made in the orange wine style originating in Eastern Europe. Fermented all the way through on the skins. The skin contact gives it wonderful structure and amplifies the pineapple, quince, candied citrus and apple skin flavors of the wine. It’s incredible with cuisines that have a touch of spice and sweet – think Indian, Thai, Korean, Latin.
